At our church picnic on September 26 we recognized Drew Burris' contributions to our church. Besides being a wonderful organ and piano player, he was noted for many other contributions. Pastor Day emceed the event. She could be a talk show hostess. Go Pastor! Drew was quick on comebacks to the conversation. A true gentleman. Family Promise needs your help! Please support them by donating and help them to be able to continue serving homeless families! Click on the link below to donate to their Go Fund Me site. Thank you! Family Promise of Southwest NJ has supported families on the path to safe, permanent housing since 2005. Their work includes eviction prevention, short-term rental help, and three transitional homes where families typically stay 90–120 days. However, canceled grant funding puts the organization at risk of closing on September 30. They do have renewed funding coming in January 2027. They’ve already helped many families avoid losing their homes and avoid entering a shelter this year, so keeping these services open could make a real difference for more families with children.
